Professional Background
Raymond started his career in 2010 as a junior accounts clerk at a mid-sized accounting firm in Central. Those five years were foundational—he learned how real businesses actually keep their books, what mistakes trip them up, and why most people find bookkeeping so confusing. It’s not because the concepts are hard. It’s because they’re taught backwards.
In 2014, something clicked. Raymond developed a simplified framework for teaching journal entry concepts to business owners without formal accounting training. Instead of starting with theory, he started with real transactions—money in, money out, where it goes. That methodology spread. Today, it’s used across multiple accounting firms in Hong Kong, and it’s become the foundation of his teaching approach.
Over the past eight years, Raymond’s worked directly with startups, family businesses, and freelancers to establish proper record-keeping systems under HKFRS standards. He’s seen what works and what doesn’t. What drives him is simple: most business owners struggle not because they lack intelligence, but because bookkeeping is taught in unnecessarily complex ways. If an accountant can’t explain something simply, they don’t understand it well enough.
Now, he leads educational content development at LedgerFlow Limited, focused on simplifying how Hong Kong businesses learn double-entry principles, ledger management, and HKFRS compliance. Every article he writes, every resource he creates, comes from real client scenarios. You’ll find practical solutions here, not theoretical textbook stuff.
